Glenridding lies at the southern end of Ullswater in the Lake District. The village grew up around the Greenside mine which now forms the Helvellyn Youth Hostel. The village now provides a great range of holiday accommodation including hotels, holiday cottages, B&Bs and a campsite. There are also a good range of local shops, cafes, and restaurants, as well as local attractions such as the Ullswater Steamers and the Glenridding Sailing Centre.
